LSE serves numerous State Departments of Transportation, Regional Toll Authorities, Municipal Governments, and Contractors and Developers. The ideal candidate will be required to: stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as well as lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist and perform duties as directed by Party Chief.
• Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey.
• Holds level or stadia rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys.
• Measures distance between survey points with steel or cloth tape or surveyor's chain.
• Marks measuring points with markers, paint sticks, tacks, scratches, or stakes.
• Places stakes at designated points and drives them into the ground at specified elevation.
• Load/unload equipment and prepare trucks for daily jobs. 

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and a good attitude required; we will train the right person!
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel and remain out of town for up to two weeks at a time.
• Employment is conditional upon successful background and drug screenings.
• Candidates must possess a neat appearance and be prepared for various weather conditions.
• Familiarity with survey instruments (total station, data collector, level) is a plus.
