Job Responsibilities

Navigate computer-based work instructions to install parts and hardware using hand tools and fixtures if needed; on wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) in a Lean manufacturing clean-room environment.

May serve as primary trainer for other assemblers on specific job functions.

• Effectively use hand tools, torque wrenches, equipment and fixtures to assemble WFE
• Read and navigate work instructions and schematics
• Work in teams to ensure workflow and production schedule is maintained
• Provide flexibility and responsiveness for changing priorities including rework requirements and pilot build projects
• Complete required trainings and certifications for processes, procedures and equipment
• Ensure the correct parts were delivered and performs visual inspection of components prior to installation
• Assist with audits through visual inspection and verifying checklists
• Close assigned tasks by verifying work was completed, verify Cell Fusion was completed, and signing off and giving a description of what was done
• Install parts and hardware correctly by following Cell Fusion instructions and using hand tools and fixtures if needed;

verifies Cell Fusion completion

• Perform all operations in Assembly but cannot perform final audit
• Cross trained in multiple work centers (e.g. Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, NPI, etc...)
• May be a lead assembler with assistance
• Train other assemblers on specific job functions
• Write NCI’s and escalate issues to engineering
• Complete rework independently using appropriate equipment
• Provide documented feedback on work instructions through redline process
• Perform leak check with assistance

Other Job Responsibilities

Safety Protocol :

• Complete all required safety training
• Follow safe work practices by lifting no more than 35 pounds, using ergonomic pads, stretching when needed, etc.
• Adhere to personal and product safety guidelines by :
• utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
• following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
• utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes, lifting tool) to aid in the assembly of tools
• Perform Risk Management By Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and document, correct and / or escalate safety issues / hazards to appropriate individuals / departments
• Supports safe work environment by responding directly and quickly to unsafe practices; escalates to next level manager (safety representative, lead, supervisor, manager);

and escalates any unresolved issues (incorrect use of hoist, poor placement of tools / cords / ladders, etc., not using cones or barriers, PPE misuse)

Communication :

• Provide timely information and responses to supervisors and co-workers by phone / written form / email / in person
• Communicate verbally and in writing to appropriate groups / locations when :
• Identifying production issues
• Suggesting continuous improvements
• Giving system status during shift pass downs
• Participate in meetings and training

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-4 Years of semiconductor capital equipment industry
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
• Work 12-plus hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
• Squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand and operate in ergonomically- challenging positions for over 50% of time
• Lift 35 pounds
• Perform repetitive motions using hands and various hand tools
• Distinguish between colors for wire identification
• Be flexible and responsive to changing priorities including but not limited to rework, overtime and potential limited travel to other Lam / customer facilities
• Utilize computer-based data systems and applications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Lean Six Sigma White Belt trained
• Attention to detail
• Flexible, able to easily adapt to change
• Proactive and takes initiative
• TWI Certified Trainer (TUA specific)
• Demonstrates continuous improvement
• Good troubleshooting skills
