Position Summary

Summary:
Conduct performance reviews, assigns employees work, schedules time off, determine priority of work to be done. Oversee day-to-day operations for area of responsibility. Coach and counsel employees toward performance improvement; disciplines when necessary. Has strong recommendation authority regarding hires and terminations. May assist with budgeting. Uses discretionary judgment in the management of staff, customers and visitors. May provide staff education and training. Serve as key resource for staff in their day-to-day job duties. Identifies and facilitates opportunities for improvement in the areas of quality care and services, stewardship, employee satisfaction, communication, accountability and customer satisfaction. Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Standard Work Duties: Supervisor - Case Management
  • Using a collaborative leadership style, facilitates the achievement of department and hospital-wide quality, safety, satisfaction and stewardship goals. Monitor and track data/reports as identified by the department leadership.
  • Oversee the orientation of new employees. Assess the ongoing competence of all employees and conducts performance appraisals. Proactively addresses performance and behavioral issues and acts to modify actions and behaviors to facilitate effective relationships and outcomes. Provide staff education to support change and on-going development.
  • Respond to complaints, adverse situations, unplanned circumstances or problems to insure that work is completed efficiently, staffing needs are met, customer and staff satisfaction concerns are addressed appropriately and expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Actively support and appropriately applies department and organizational policies. Provide staff education to support change and ongoing development.
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to personal accountability as well as that of the staff. Consistently demonstrates integrity and fair treatment to staff. Consistently demonstrates the ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions in carrying out daily job duties.   • Updates and disseminates information from agencies, community resources and hospital services to support delivery of high-quality services.
  • Acts as resource for information for social work and hospital staff, and provides expert guidance in problem solving for complex cases..
  • Identifies and responds to issues/trends noted via rounds and supervisory interaction.
  • Contributes to projects and other duties as assigned within the department and hospital.
  • Assists with workload as needed during times of very high census.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
Essential:

  • Bachelor Degree

Nonessential:

  • Master Degree

Education equivalent experience:
Essential:

  • Must complete the LRH management training program within the first six months in role. If a Social Worker, requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Social Work and demonstrated leadership abilities. If an RN, requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, an accredited school of Social Work or related field and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Nonessential:

  • For Social Workers, a Master's degree from an accredited School of Social Work. For nurses, a Master’s degree from an accredited School of Social Work, or other related field.

Other information:
Experience Essential:

  • Three to five years of experience in professional/ role requiring progressive increase in responsibility.

Experience Preferred:

  • Previous supervisory experience.

Certifications Preferred:

  • Advanced certification (ACM, ACCC, CCM, CPHQ, HCQM,)

Licenses Essential:

  • If an RN, must have an active Florida RN License

Licenses Preferred:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • OSHA working standards
