Lakeland Regional Health is Hiring a Registered Nurse - Perioperative OR Services Near Lakeland, FL

Registered Nurse - Main Operating Room M-F 1:00pm-11:30pm x 4 weekdays plus call

At Lakeland Regional Health we are hiring for circulating nurses to join us in our OR where you will work outside the sterile field. You will be responsible for managing the nursing care within the O.R. by observing the surgical team from a broad perspective and assisting the team in creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment. We are looking for competent Operating room nurses to assist surgeons during operations, you will need to possess efficiency and attention to detail. Patient safety and comfort are critical and you must have a caring nature to do well in LRH’s culture.

What you will do:

  • Assess patients prior to surgery and alleviating their concerns
  • Gather supplies needed for the operation
  • Assume responsibility of keeping the operating room sterilized
  • Position and prepare patient on operating table
  • Pass medical instruments or other objects to the surgeon during operation
  • Monitor patient’s vital signs to detect anomalies
  • Evaluate patient in postoperative phases
  • Adhere to safety standards and precautions
  • Assume duties within or out of the sterile field as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • Must obtain a Bachelor Degree within three years of employment
  • Current license as Registered Nurse in Florida
  • AHA BLS
  • One year of current Acute Care Nursing experience

Preferred:

  • Operating Room experience
  • CORN
