Position Summary
Summary:
Works collaboratively with the scope of LRHHCC protocols to provide care under the direction of the physician. Manages the care of patients to include performing procedures, completing histories and physicals, prescribing medications, reviewing pathology radiology reports, and diagnosing conditions. Contributes to positive patient outcomes. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Standard Work Duties: APRN/Nurse Practitioner
  • Actively participate in team development, achieving dashboards, and in accomplishing department goals and objectives.
  • Manages care of patients according to the protocol of care established with the physicians, maintaining clinic on his/her own with general supervision.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patient’s medical, physical, and psychological status including performance of history and physicals, periodic evaluation, progress notes, discharge summary, and patient care rounds.
  • Order appropriate diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures. Develop and implement physician driven treatment plans.
  • Conduct patient education and counseling covering health status, test results, disease processes, and discharge planning.
  • Provide acute and chronic patient care including monitoring therapies. Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
  • Reinforce the plan of care with patients, families, and staff members. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the direction of the physicians.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Essential:
  • Master Degree
Education equivalent experience:
Essential:
  • Graduate of approved school of Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse (APRN)
Other information:
Licenses Essential: State of Florida License as Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse.
Certifications Essential: Per department or hospital requirements and relevant policies.
Certifications Preferred: Oncology certification.
