Solaris HealthCare is seeking an Activities CNA to join our team! 

Responsibilities

  • Activity Planning: Develop and implement adiverse range of activities and programs tailored to the interests andabilities of residents, including but not limited to arts and crafts, musictherapy, games, exercise classes, and cultural events.
  • Individualized Care: Assess the interests,preferences, and cognitive abilities of residents to customize activity plansand ensure participation and enjoyment for all residents, including those withspecial needs or cognitive impairments.
  • Group Facilitation: Lead group activities andevents, encouraging resident participation and fostering a sense of communityand belonging among residents.
  • One-on-One Engagement: Provide one-on-oneinteraction and engagement with residents who may require individualizedattention or assistance with activities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records ofresident participation in activities, as well as observations of residentengagement, behavior, and mood. Report any changes or concerns to theappropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with othermembers of the healthcare team, including nurses, therapists, and socialworkers, to coordinate care plans and ensure the holistic well-being ofresidents.
  • Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety andwell-being of residents during activities, providing supervision and assistanceas needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively withresidents, families, and staff, providing information about upcomingactivities, encouraging participation, and addressing any questions orconcerns.
  • Resource Management: Maintain inventory ofactivity supplies and equipment. Assist with the procurement of materials andresources needed for activities and events.
  • Requirements:
  • Certification: Valid certification as aCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
  • Experience: Previous experience working withelderly individuals, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living setting,is preferred but not required.
  • Compassion: Genuine compassion for the elderlyand a desire to enhance their quality of life through meaningful activities andinteractions.
  • Creativity: Creative and innovative approach toactivity planning, with the ability to develop engaging programs that cater toa diverse range of interests and abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively withresidents, families, and staff.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively aspart of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the overall well-being andcare of residents.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexibleschedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needsand preferences of residents.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend,and lift for extended periods, and assist residents with mobility andactivities as needed.

Requirements 

  • Valid certification as a Certified NursingAssistant (CNA) in the state of Florida required.
  • Previous experience working with elderlyindividuals, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living setting, ispreferred but not required.
  • Genuine compassion for the elderly and a desireto enhance their quality of life through meaningful activities andinteractions.
  • Creative and innovative approach to activityplanning, with the ability to develop engaging programs that cater to a diverserange of interests and abilities.
