HEART Team Supervisor
Program Description:
The HEART (Holistic Engagement through Allied Recovery and Treatment) team is an intensive community outreach and crisis response program. HEART is one of our newest additions to Lake Whatcom Center’s wide array of services created to increase access to comprehensive, quality, and community-based behavioral health services and promote individual and community resiliency. The HEART Team expands on existing whole-person, recovery-focused care services to increase crisis response and service accessibility while mitigating strain on traditional 9-1-1 services. The team is made up of four Outreach Case Managers, two of which must be Peer Certified (or eligible for Peer Certification), one of which is a SUD specialist, MHP’s, an ARNP, and an RN. HEART Team hopes to provide culturally competent, crisis intervention, assessment, case management, and advocacy to individuals in crisis.
The Holistic Engagement through Allied Recovery & Treatment (HEART) Supervisor is an exempt, supervisor position under the supervision of the Program Manager. The HEART Supervisor is a supervisor role responsible for directing HEART outreach case managers in providing crisis intervention, treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to LWC clients and community members through group, individual and immediate consultation, and supervision with HEART team staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be licensed or certified to work in the field, able to obtain Agency Affiliated License as defined in chapter 18.19 RCW and 246-810 WAC within 30 days of hire.
· Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License or have a current valid driver’s license from another state and apply for a WA DL by hire date.
· Must have bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services or related field.
· Good personal relations skills; ability to work with difficult clients. Experience and ability to work with adults who have chronic serious mental illnesses. Good organizational skills; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Ability to work cooperatively in a team approach; Ability to apply a Recovery based approach; Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion. Good verbal, written, communication, and computer skills; visual and auditory skills required to communicate, ensure and deliver client care and provide legal documentation of care.
Requires frequent standing, bending at the knees and waist, kneeling and reaching; Requires frequent walking to accomplish tasks; Requires ability to lift 30 pounds. Acceptable driving record and ability to be covered by LWC insurance carrier.
Employment contingent on successful background check and Washington State counseling profession credential issued by the Department of Health (e.g. Agency Affiliated Counselor and must apply for within 7 days of hire, preferably prior to hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Individuals with master's or doctoral degrees in nursing, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology are eligible.
· Individual's able to meet the requirements of an MHP as defined by the WAC 388-865-0150 eligible
· Must have strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences and have access to helpful, adequate, competent and continuous supports and services.
· Skills and competence to supervise clinical staff in establishing supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential.

Starting hourly rates for the Supervisor Position ranges from $30.25 - $34.00 per hour. The HEART Program is a grant-based program and salaries are based on level of education, years of relevant experience, and any specialty certifications applicants hold.
