MSAD 61 seeks an organized, flexible, energetic, and innovative special educator able to work well in a fast-paced collegial environment. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of and experience with:Teaching in special education for a minimum of 3 years Thorough knowledge of Maine and Federal Special Education Laws and Regulations and successfully completed “Special Education Law” course Facilitating IEP Team Meetings Providing consultation and feedback to special education teachers, related service providers and educational technicians Leadership Skills including professional development and training Detail-oriented and organized Quality writing ability and editing skills Meeting rigorous timelines Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with many different people Teacher Contract position (182 days) plus ten (10) additional days @ per diem rate Reports to Director of Special Services Primary job responsibilities are the coordination of special education and related services per building assignment and serving as administrator designee for IEP Team meetings and providing support as an instructional coach to special education teachers, related services providers, and educational technicians
