Job Overview

The Aloft Lake Nona is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Lead to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment within the hotel, ensuring that our guests have a safe and comfortable stay. The Maintenance Lead must maintain high morale for engineering staff; teach engineering staff how to maintain and repair equipment. Mentor engineering team members effectively

This position will assist leadership in the day to day maintenance operations of the property, coordinate work schedules for staff, assign work orders, projects, and preventive maintenance tasks; inventory, maintain, and order parts; follow up on assigned work, review daily work logs, work with the crew as required. On own and with the help of the entire staff: gather, collect, and solicit work, tasks, repair items, and work orders; sort and prioritize the information; make sure the required parts and materials are available and if not, requisition and order them. Perform maintenance tasks, general maintenance, complete assigned work and help in the maintenance and repairs of all areas of the property.

• Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Manage adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and material for the department.
• Must be able to respond to emergency situations, such as fire alarms, and other life-safety situations.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations.
• Conducts walk-through and visually assesses the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structures of the property, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and any other related equipment.
• Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas.
• Receive daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects.
• Maintain timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
• Perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work orders as needed.
• Assist other engineering personnel as instructed by Manager in regards to routine and preventive maintenance.

• Lake Nona Aloft Hotel believes that each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. Individuals must posses and demonstrate the ability to interact with all guests, internal and external, effectively with tact and diplomacy in line with Lake Nona Aloft Hotel service standards.
• Knowledge of all maintenance trades, Electrical, Carpentry and plumbing including some HVAC-R.
• Skills in the use of related tools, including hand, and power tools.
• Basic English language and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers and guests.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to push, and pull objects weighing up to 100lbs and grasp
• Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50lbs. 
• Ability to climb stairs, and ladders working at heights up to 30 feet, for extended periods of time often times overhead.
• Ability to move throughout the property for the duration of the shift.

Qualifications

• Hotel, institutional, HVAC systems experience of 3-5 years preferred
• Refrigeration, HVAC certification or journeyman level experience
• Previous management or supervisory experience of 2-3 years
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, emergency, preventative maintenance systems and all related disciplines
• Read, write, speak and understand English
• Basic computer skills, administrative skills
• Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees
