Lake Mead Christian Ministries (LMCM) Minister - High School Upper Math Teacher (Pre-Calculus/Calculus)

Job Type: Full Time

Department: High School (Academy)

Reports to: Director of High School

*Compensation: $31,200 - $50,200 based on experience and education

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for teaching Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and AP Calculus at the high school level. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM with the possibility of before or after school departmental meetings as needed.

  • Supports the LMCM Mission by making disciples of Jesus Christ through community.
  • Demonstrates spiritual flourishing through personal disciplines of prayer, Bible study, and outreach to others.
  • Believes the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
  • Agrees with and actively supports the LMCM Statement of Faith.
  • Shows evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in interactions with people.
  • Has a Christ-centered home.
  • Attends and actively participates in an evangelical local church.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Writes weekly lesson plans.
  • Grades materials within a timely manner and enters into FACTS.
  • Gives students consistent and regular feedback.
  • Reaches out to parents regularly to communicate student successes, challenges, and behaviors.
  • Follow school policies in the classroom.
  • Works with a subject department head in scheduling the curriculum for the school year.
  • Will need to use Google Classroom and FACTS.
  • Has the potential of gaining dual enrollment approval (master level math teacher).
  • Knows how to use a graphing calculator and can teach others.
  • Assignments include daily work, quizzes (1 to 2 a week), 1 test per chapter, and at least 2 cumulative tests a year.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Possesses the ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check and fingerprinting.
  • A valid degree from an accredited institution of higher education (BS in Mathematics, Mathematics)
  • Experience in the classroom

  • Demonstrates proficiency in technology integration
  • Experience working with educational technology platforms such as Google Drive
  • Demonstrates high-quality, positive classroom management

  • Is a “team player” who inspires others by example
  • Participates in and supports Lake Mead Christian Ministries activities.
