Lake County is Hiring a Clinical Support Analyst Near Avenue, IL

The Clinical Support Analyst provides programmatic support by gathering, reporting, and analyzing data and information about the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center’s (LCHDCHC) contract laboratory, 340B and Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Compassionate/Indigent Use programs utilization to ensure cost-effective use and compliance with accreditation or regulating bodies. They are responsible for generating and sending information as required for operational needs, auditing the information for compliance with funding source requirements and standards, and coordinating operational data to assist Primary Care Administration and Programmatic Managers in making more comprehensive, informed decisions.
  • Examines historical lab testing and prescription data, both clinical and financial) for the purpose of generating accurate and reliable financial and utilization analysis data. 
  • Generates a variety of statistical and management reports for contract and regulatory compliance, service utilization trends and program/provider productivity. 
  • Assists in the interpretation and analysis of management data to maintain accuracy of the data.
  • Validates that data is reported accurately in appropriate funding categories. 
  • Compiles data and submits reports within required timeframes in order to support fiscal grant requirements.
  • Uses the NextGen enterprise management system and electronic health record, contracted pharmacy vendor reporting program, and pharmaceutical manufacturer compassionate use/indigent drug program websites and personal computer spreadsheets to create reports. 
  • Performs periodic audits of billing information for compliance with contracted rates requirements.
  • Coordinates communication with contracted lab and pharmacy vendors.
  • Coordinates application and regularly monitors status for active participation in both the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) and Office of Pharmacy Affairs 340B program
  • Develops, implements and updates protocols, policies and procedures to ensure services meet program/grant objectives and compliance with Federal/State requirements.
  • Identifies standardized client education/outreach materials and referral sources as necessary. 
  • Develops and maintains training program for new staff regarding services provided.
  • Develops and maintains point of care testing materials.
  • Coordinates supply ordering and necessary data reports required for organizational participation in the Kids’ First Fair. 
  • Demonstrates commitment to the department’s mission and provides services consistent with its organizational values. 
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of services available at the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC).
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the Chronic Care Model Processes in order to reduce health disparities within our communities. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Emergency Preparedness roles.
  • Maintains knowledge and assures compliance to National Patient Safety Goals within a clinical setting.
  • Provides ongoing program evaluation including of outcome initiatives/grant goals and objectives and implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement Activities to improve program services and outcome.
  • Participates in assigned mandatory in-services and drills including appropriate educational trainings for professional development.
  • Reports all unusual occurrences that may involve the safety and well being of the clients, patients and/or co-workers, directly to the appropriate PCS Administration and/or LCHD Administration. 
  •  Raises and reports concerns about situations that might jeopardize the organizational ethics, integrity, or violates regulations by utilizing appropriate communication channels
  • Requires an associate's degree in a health-related field,  bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred.
    • With an associate’s degree five years of progressively responsible experience in the health field is required.
    • With a bachelor’s degree two years of progressively responsible experience in the health field is required.
  • Experience in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory and reporting is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel and electronic health records such as NextGen is required. 
  • Experience and documented ability in programmatic operational and financial reporting is required.
  • Knowledge of common medication names and types used in a family practice environment is preferred.
