Lajean’s thriving mental health boutique practice needs an experienced medical receptionist (retirees preferred) to work up to 36 hours a week and can assist with overseeing the administrative duties involved with coordinating patient and physician schedules as well as bookkeeping, file management medical records and office organization. Candidate will also assist with patient care responsible and general office oversight.

We are looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as people rather than numbers in a file, and who understands the value of compassionate service. The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking, but the ideal candidate will know when to slow down, look patients in the eye and provide personalized service.

Medical Receptionist Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, Tele-health and answering or referring inquiries.
  • Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival and reminding providers of service delays.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information and processing payments for co-pays and uninsured visits.
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies and taking emergency messages
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
  • Medical Record Management including patient insurance verification

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
