Job Summary: We are excited to announce that Lafayette is adding a Controller due to our growth! As Controller, you will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of Lafayette. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will prepare and oversee financial statements and reporting, and lead our budgeting, payroll, and accounting. Your analysis will ensure our organization's fiscal health and compliance with regulatory requirements, providing for our mission for years to come.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and communication.

· Maintain a robust system of internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

· Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance, including job costing and modeling new initiatives.

· Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets, providing explanations on variances and recommendations.

· Implement strategies to optimize cash flow.

· Manage grant funding and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

· Coordinate annual financial audits and liaise with external auditors.

· Lead and motivate a team to foster a high-performance, service-based culture.

· Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

· Provide strong leadership within the department and throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA or MBA a plus.
  • 7 years or more of progressive experience in financial and accounting management, including A/P, A/R, payroll, credit, and treasury.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment highly desired; Non-profit organization experience is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (required) and non-profit accounting standards (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills including accounting software (QB or similar), Excel, Word.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions: The Controller is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborating with various department heads and external partners. Typical core office hours are 7:15 a.m.–3:45 p.m. Mon.–Th. and 7:15 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Fri. This is a salaried position and is primarily based in Manchester, Missouri, and attends other worksites from time to time.
