Lach Tile & Marble, Inc. is Hiring a Warehouse Material Handler Near Halethorpe, MD

WAREHOUSE LABORER/MATERIAL HANDLER POSITION. Lach Tile & Marble is a tile installation company now hiring to fill a full-time warehouse laborer/material handler position. We are looking for a reliable, capable individual to join our team. This is a physically demanding position requiring extended standing time and the ability to repeatedly lift heavy weight. It requires forklift certification. It requires good math ability for manually checking in and out materials - we do not use a scanning system. It requires good written and verbal communication skills. It requires dependable transportation daily to and from our offices in Halethorpe, MD. In return we offer regular full-time work, weekly payroll, paid holidays, PTO, a 401(K) plan, & medical/dental plan options. This is a Monday through Friday, eight-hours/day position; hours are 8:30-5:00 daily with a ½ hour unpaid lunch break.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A minimum of two years’ recent continuous full-time employment in warehousing or construction industry.

  • Ceramic tile experience is not required but is a plus.

2. Minimum of two years' recent warehouse forklift operator experience & a current forklift certification.

3. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

4. Excellent math skills.

5. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and perform physical activities such as repetitive bending & lifting motions and repeatedly lifting products weighing more than 55lbs.

6. Ability to focus on details and manage a constantly changing workload.

7. Previous experience in a manual recordkeeping warehouse operation – our frequent turnover of varied materials does not allow for computerized identification and tracking; this is a completely manual operation.

8. Ability to operate basic hand tools.

9. Current valid driver’s license.

  • Current DOT certification preferable but we will consider applicant who is willing and able to become DOT certified.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES will include, but are not limited to:

1. Receiving & storing incoming materials

  • Accurately matching purchase orders to delivery tickets, verifying size, color, type & count received, labeling and securely storing materials.
  • Accurately communicating in writing discrepancies or changes to warehouse manager.
  • Daily accurate completion of required paperwork confirming receipt of material for the day.

2. Accurately preparing outgoing materials including, but not limited to:

  • Verifying that materials match type, size, color, and count on packing slip, are securely wrapped for delivery, and are properly labeled with Project name & contents.

3. Receiving, recording, & restocking of materials returned from project sites.

  • Sorting & wrapping returned materials for storage, labeling each with Project Name, material type & count.

4. Picking up materials at vendors as needed.

5. Maintaining a neat & clean warehouse area.

6. Other tasks as assigned daily.
