JOB DESCRIPTION (Head Coach, Softball)

WLAC seeks a part time, non-tenured Head Coach for Softball to manage the Softball program and teach fall and spring term Kinesiology Athletic classes: (1) Softball Skills class and (1) Softball Strength and Conditioning class.The successful candidate will report to the Athletics Director and is responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful Community College program; including coaching, practice and game preparation, recruiting, academic matriculation, placement, developing positive player-coach relationships, budget management, team travel, public relations, fund-raising, marketing, promotions, scheduling, rules compliance and other duties as assigned.

LAVC JOB DESCRIPTION

LAVC seeks a non‐tenure track Head Softball Coach to manage the softball program and to teach fall and spring term classes: One Physical Education softball skills class and one softball strength and conditioning class. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful community college softball program. Duties also include coaching, practicing and game preparation, recruiting, academic matriculation, placement, developing positive player‐ coach relationships, budget management, team travel, public relations, fund‐raising, marketing, promotions, scheduling, rules compliance and other duties as assigned. The position is a part‐time adjunct coaching assignment and continuation of the annually renewable position is contingent upon funding. The head coach will only teach the sport and practice beginning Fall 2022. The first season of competition is spring 2023.

The position is for the 2021-2022 season but will require the candidate to begin student recruitment and training in the Fall of 2021.The position is a part‐time adjunct coaching assignment in the Athletic Department and continuation of the assignment is contingent upon funding and professional performance.
