The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Legal Assistant to be accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with third parties on their behalf. This is an ideal position for a genuine and hospitable individual with the skills to effectively communicate with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds. This role requires strong interpersonal skills where professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity are showcased. A successful candidate for the role will be detail-oriented and hyper-organizedĀ as maintaining accurate case files is a primary day-to-day function. Success in this role will also require strong oral communication, phone etiquette, and guest relations skills as they are accountable for providing hospitable and excellent customer service. As a Legal Assistant, you must be able to serve clients and support the litigation paralegals during the litigation phase of all assigned matters. We are looking for someone who is cheerful and enthusiastic multi-tasker to ensure our clients receive pleasantly memorable service.

What Winning Looks Like:

  • Accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with any third parties as directed by paralegals.
    • Contact and meet with clients as directed
    • Contact third parties such as medical providers and insurance companies on behalf of the client
  • Accountable to ensure that all matters assigned by paralegals are handled as quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully as possible.
    • Ensure all data is properly and accurately entered into Case Management System
    • Organize, save, and file all matter related documents
    • Draft, save, mail, fax, and/or email correspondence and supporting documents
    • Assist with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings or demands
    • Assist with discovery, including but not limited to, the preparation and completion of written discovery and scheduling of depositions
    • Assist with trial preparation, including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filings
    • Keep track of cases expenses, including copy and postage charges, entering into Case Management System for each client
  • Accountable to provide handling attorney support as requested and as outlined in Case Management Tasks.
    • Timely response and completion of tasks assigned by handling attorney and or paralegal
    • Timely completion of all Case Management Matter Plan tasks

  • Prioritize Effectively: Prioritize tasks effectively, delegating when appropriate, and demonstrate time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate Computer & Software Literacy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Case Management Software, and similar computer applications

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of experience in related positions
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Previous experience within legal, medical, or insurance industry preferred
  • Strong computer and keyboarding experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to operate basic office equipment
