LABOR DEPARTMENT is Hiring a Project Coordinator - Hourly - Buffalo - DEWS Near Buffalo, NY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree* AND five years of specialized experience* as described below, at least two years of which must have been at a supervisory level.
  • Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. **Specialized experience must have been where your duties involved work utilizing the following skills:
  • Strong Interpersonal and networking sills with the ability to identify, create and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in community engagement, with a focus on the areas in and around Buffalo New York.
  • Knowledge of workforce development and planning, with an emphasize on areas in and around Buffalo New York.
  • Excellent Communication and presentation skills with experience in developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience with government grants and funding, with an emphasize on the federal funds made available under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
  • The ability to work independently and to plan, prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment, especially under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Duties Description
STANDARD DUTIES:
The Project Coordinator will:
  • Lead high profile priority initiatives in and around Buffalo New York or other areas in New York State as needed.
  • Use innovative industry knowledge to broker relationships with industry, trade groups, unions, universities, community colleges, vocational training centers, workforce development boards, WIOA partners and other local, state and federal partners.
  • identify, align and maintain workforce training programs with the needs of businesses and related organizations to strengthen the talent pool to meet emerging workforce needs.
  • Working closely with area leaders and other stakeholder in the organizing of recruitment efforts for new and expanding businesses in and around Buffalo.
  • Develop and maintain data driven and narrative progress reports to be delivered to executive leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.
Travel 20% .
