Job Overview

The Intern Engineer will work closely with other engineers and CAD technicians in the design of solid waste-related projects. The projects are challenging and provide unique design opportunities. This is a multiple semester intern position, and expected to last Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2023. The Intern Engineer should be able to work a minimum of 20 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Projects will include solid-waste related site development projects: developing master plans, design drawings, design of stormwater management and erosion control systems, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Drafting work for scoping/conceptual work/engineering packages.
• Preparing various types of related reports and studies.
• Position will require some travel to clients’ facilities to better understand design issues and to monitor construction progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include pursuit of a Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, preferably with a thesis option.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ideal candidate has the traits of a team player who is enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering.
• Must have good communication skills, must be a team player, and must be able to relate well to project team and clients.
