Our Marketing team is looking for a Marketing & Creative intern for the summer. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that will report to the Marketing Manager. The internship would ideally begin in June and will last 12 weeks.

DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

You’re not expected to hold all the below qualifications, however, the ideal candidate will possess many of the below:

· An open, inspired, inquisitive, and design-savvy mind

· Comfort or interest in process development and workflows

· Portfolio of original content and creative, with a focus on video

· Working knowledge of content design platforms (e.g. Canva or the Adobe Suite), email marketing systems (e.g.MailerLite, MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.), and social media platforms (Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn)

· Strong written and oral communication skills and a keen eye for detail

· Strong time management and organization skills

· Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently

· Eagerness to learn and ability to synthesize and present information

· Interest in branding, creative design strategy, and social media

· Ability to think critically, analyze current practices, and make actionable recommendations

· Strong interpersonal skills

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Your day-to-day will include some recurring tasks, as well as responding to in-the-moment needs. Every day is different, so flexibility and responsiveness is key!

· Assist in video editing tasks, including editing and producing promotional videos, event highlights, and educational content.

· Contributing content to LabCentral marketing campaigns, as well as independently developing new campaigns

· Assist in streamlining of key marketing projects, like our Annual Impact Report

· Providing thoughtful and creative feedback and insight on improving LabCentral’s media presence

· Drafting creative and engaging text and graphic content to promote LabCentral’s programing and events

· Assisting the Marketing team as needed with creative asks (you never know what requests might pop up!)

DURING YOUR TIME YOU WILL

· Immerse yourself in the LabCentral community of life sciences start-ups and interact with resident scientists and entrepreneurs tackling some of medicine’s biggest challenges

· Develop an understanding of the importance of branding, social media, and design strategy in the life sciences

· Continue to build your skills for personal and professional growth

· Form connections throughout our own LabCentral team as the Marketing department works with teams across the organization
