Sanitation Worker Job Summary
Our food processing plant is looking for a hardworking Sanitation Worker. In this role, you will use USDA-approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production and processing equipment, and ensure that there is no unnecessary waste along the assembly line. You will also clean the floors, ensure that the building ventilation is clean and working correctly, and refill sanitary products and soap in the bathrooms. Since we provide consumable products for sale and distribution to the public, we expect you to report any potential contamination issues. You may be asked to help with other packaging or processing tasks as needed.
Sanitation Worker Duties and Responsibilities
Use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces
Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment
Disposing of waste along the assembly line
Sweep and mop the floors of entire bakery
Dust ventilation ducts to ensure proper airflow
Refill soap and hand towels in the bathrooms
Report on potential issues to management
Reports directly to the Maintenance Technician on the shift.
Come to work with a clean, neat appearance and in uniform.
Responsible for ensuring the Plant is maintained in a clean, sanitary condition.
Abide by the health department/FDA requirements and maintain clean work areas.
Responsible for any assigned clean up task as defined in the Operations Book.
Responsible for entering, checking off all required information in the Operations book.
Ensure all equipment is used in a safe, correct manner and that each piece of equipment is cleaned after every use.
Must be able to work any available time Monday-Sunday 5am-3pm
Must be able to pass Background check.
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled setting.
Qualifications:
Able to understand and follow instructions
Janitorial or Food Prep Cleaning experience preferred
Able to work well with others
Able to stand for long periods of time
A team player attitude
Ability to lift 50 lbs. overhead
Ability to communicate and read labels in English (Bilingualism a plus)
Attention to detail
Physical stamina
Preferred candidates will have some of the following experience:
1-2 years experience
