View our full equity statement here.Essential Duties●Support La Salle’s mission as a Lasallian, Catholic school and engage in the life of the school community●Provide an academically rigorous curriculum that aligns with Science department curriculum / content maps ●Possess a passion for working with young people and a desire to engage them in critical thinking, inquiry, and problem solving●Demonstrate cultural competence and strategies to promote equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom●Participate in professional learning teams, departmental goal setting, and school-wide professional development initiatives●Monitor student progress using frequent formative and end of unit summative assessments●Maintain accurate student grades and records●Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff●Communicate effectively and consistently with parents and colleagues●Possess ability to leverage technology for student learning in a 1:1 environment●Differentiate instruction to students on an accommodation plan●Deliver homeroom and flex time programming as scheduled●Contribute to the larger school community through occasional prefecting duties or participation in student life activitiesEducation and Experience●Bachelor’s degree or higher in the subject area or related field; Masters in Teaching or Education preferred●Hold current Oregon Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)●Prefer at least three (3) years relevant experience including teaching high school level science coursesApplication ProcessPlease send your cover letter, resume, and licensure credentials to Melanie McCaffrey, HR Coordinator at mmcaffrey@lsprep.org.
