We are currently seeking a Per Diem Los Niños Teacher Aide . This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, prioritizes well, enjoys mentoring / educating others, values teamwork, and LOVES children, hours vary depending on other teachers request off, so a flexible schedule is a must.

At least 6 months of experience in childcare are needed.

This dynamic person must have the following skills :

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the supervision of the Lead Teacher in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school.
• Assist in planning and preparing the necessary materials and supplies for the indoor-outdoor space.
• Supervise center activities under the direction of a Lead Teacher.
• Consider individual children in relationship to their cultural and socio-economic background and treat children with dignity and respect.
• Help children become aware of their role as integral members of a group.
• Assist in planned intergenerational activities, focusing on building relationships across the ages.
• Assist in snack preparation and serving.
• Facilitate the children during all mealtimes. Provide the best possible environment with the health and nutritional status of each child, promoting the development of good eating habits.
• Assist the Lead Teacher in the ongoing assessment procedures and portfolio development needed to assess the developmental levels of the children and prepare for parent-teacher conferences.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth.
• Assist the Director, Lead Teachers, and Assistant Director in parent-staff activities.
• Assist in community events sponsored by the school.
• Assist in planning and preparing the necessary materials and supplies for the indoor-outdoor space.
• Become familiar with The Creative Curriculum, AZ Early Learning Standards, Toddler Guidelines, DES Health and Safety Training, parent communication system, lesson planning, portfolio development, and child assessment for the purpose of documenting developmental progress for assigned children.
• Meets weekly with the Lead Teacher to partner in developing lesson plans, individual goals, portfolio development, and child assessment strategies.
• Be responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance and decor of the classroom learning environment, and assumes an equal share of the classroom housekeeping responsibilities.
• Be able to assist children in the bathroom, potty training or changing diapers.
