About us:

La Montaña will be the sister restaurant to Iza Whiskey and Eats, both located under the Hampton Inn Hotel in downtown Carrboro NC. La Montaña is opening in dedication to our fathers that passed, and will be a blend of Latin Asian culture and cusines. Our aim is to provide the community with unique food and drink parings in an intimate and lively setting. We desire professional, hardworking, self-motivated individuals with excellent customer service able to provide an individualized, exceptional guest experience.

A main role of our team members is to assist guests through the menu and educate them on our cuisine. We ask that all staff displays full knowledge about menu items to best assist guests in making food and beverage selections. We require that all team members display strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

We recently began lunch service but are looking to expand into craft beverages for breakfast and dinner service to compliment our breakfast/lunch menu. We're currently looking for team members which can help us create innovative and seasonal coffee beverages and cocktails to elevate our existing food and beverage program.

Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, tea
- Take customer orders and process payments using a cash register
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations
- Prepare food items, such as pastries, small plates, and salads
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop area
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and preparation

Skills:
- Strong math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of basic math for measuring ingredients and calculating recipe proportions
- Experience in food service or the food industry is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 30 pounds. Prior experience as a barista or in the food service industry is a plus.
