The Center for Excellence in Design and Innovation at LJCDS aims to inspire greatness by challenging students to identify real-world problems and design creative solutions to effect positive change for a better world. Innovation is the thread that connects technology with humans. The curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12 focuses on learning how to use cutting-edge tools and technologies while developing an understanding of the social impacts of technology, design and business. We educate students to become creative thinkers, problem solvers and agents of change by giving them training in and access to resources in entrepreneurship, engineering, and computer science.
This is an opportunity to help shape our Lower School Design & Innovation program. Working with the other Design & Innovation teachers in the Middle and Upper schools, along with the Director of Design & Innovation, the Lower School educator will be integral in shaping a strategic curriculum road map for maker technology, computer science and programming, and entrepreneurship within the school. In addition, they will be able to redesign and develop a curriculum in grades K-4 to utilize their expertise and passion. All of our team members work collaboratively with each other and all of the other LJCDS faculty and staff to create unique and differentiating experiences for our students.
