Essential Job

Duties :

• Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities. Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with residents, families, employees, and management.
• Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community and group meetings.
• Has a basic understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses. Can recognize behaviors associated with and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
• Evaluates and demonstrates knowledge and understanding of age-specific behaviors, motor skills and psychological norms.

Qualifications

• Education : High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Years of experience needed : Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a MHT working with children, adolescents and / or adults.
• License / Certification : Not required.
• Skills : Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels.
• Physical Requirements : Extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Must be able to lift over fifty (50 lbs.) pounds.
