Job Title Director, Accounting: Record to Report

What You Will Do:

This role will support all aspects of our accounting and reporting process, have end-to-end process overview and understanding, propose solutions of process improvement or accounting alignment to the norms if needed, to support chief accountant, finance and business partners, ensure the respect of the IFRS standards, and provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues.

You will report directly to the Head of accounting of North America. You will support projects, research, communication with the group on some subjects, norms, or projects.

• Oversee and propose input on the organization of the External Audit (task assignments, follow up of the correct documentation to auditors)
• Oversee the Balance sheet with the BEST accounting team, highlight the main variances, and will help the team to provide analyzes; report to the Chief accountant any risks, opportunities, or improvements put in place.
• Work with the BEST team, to identify risks and gaps through data analytics and process review.
• Works with multiple project teams to provide accounting guidance if needed.
• Review General Ledger entries according to Group requirements.
• Review account reconciliations and ensure they are compliant, justified, consistent.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• BA / BS degree required, preferably in Accounting.
• Diploma of "expertise computable" with experience working with French Accounting and French CPA
• 10 years of experience in Accounting working in a global organization
• Analytical mindset
• Experience in audit and/or CPA firms.
• Experience in General Ledger accounting or group consolidation.
• Effective communication - comfortable in presenting and explaining results to several counterparts and senior management (Chief accountant, CFOs, Group Accounting, etc.)
• Ability to perform analyses regarding monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, primarily advanced Excel skills.
• Travel to New Jersey/New York and Montreal, Canada or France may be required 5%-10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP experience preferred but not required.
• Consumer products company background preferred.
• Experience in French companies accounting.
