Summary of Job:

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based, role that works closely with national and regional oncology and dermatology healthcare providers (HCPs), CTCL Centers of Excellence, and patient advocacy groups, to gain insights into the CTCL market, identify speakers/consultants, and help establish Kyowa Kirin as a leader in the MF/SS market. The TLL is an exceptional leader with hematology/oncology experience who will work regionally to engage HCPs in three main areas: identify and engage HCP Advocates; manage speaker programs and congresses and liaise with the Regional Sales Manager and home office on projects with HCPs. The TLL will work closely, and within approved SOPs, with the other field professionals, including but not limited to Field Sales (RSMs, OAMs, etc.) & Oncology MSLs; in addition to home office-based colleagues in Marketing, Advocacy, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Market Access. They will develop a region-specific KOL plan, gain approval from key company stakeholders, and lead the execution of that plan.

Essential Functions: Identify and Engage HCPs

· Identify and establish appropriate engagement opportunities with National/Regional/Rising Star KOLs to gain insights into the MF/SS market and Poteligeo, help educate other HCPs on branded and disease-state content and provide solutions for patients. 

· Monitor HCP publications, presentations, and meetings in our labeled indications, syndicate this information with appropriate corporate and field-based colleagues, and assist in the development of educational and other commercial activities.

· Responsible for identifying potential speakers for our speaker’s bureau and partner with internal colleagues to ensure speakers are contracted and trained..

· Work closely with marketing team to strategically coordinate appropriate engagement opportunities with identified HCPs and assist with HCP recruitment for service arrangements as determined appropriate through the applicable customer engagement process (e.g., Needs Assessment Form).

· Partner with sales & marketing to assess speaker utilization and ensure compliance with internal guidelines.

· Attend local, regional & national speaking engagements & summarize effectiveness; ensure follow-up occurs with HCP and sales and marketing as appropriate.

· Ensure approval of NAF and annual Speaker Contracts and Training. 

· Manage Speaker Program vendor to ensure approval of SOW and ongoing monitoring of expenses.

Advisory Board Meetings

· Identify potential topics of interest for Advisory board meetings and identify appropriate attendees based on said topics.

· Develop NAF, agenda, slide presentations, and coordinate logistics with vendors/attendees.

· Serve as moderator during Advisory Board meetings to ensure insights sought are obtained.

Conference Management

· Manage national and regional conferences serving as the primary contact to the home office for budgeting, contracting, logistics, attendance, and pull-through.

· Serve as a resource for field teams who are managing local conferences.

· Maximize national and regional congress activity by ensuring that meeting objectives are defined in advance and are followed by a meeting summary. Coordinate with marketing and sales team to ensure contacts made receive appropriate follow-up.

Patient Ambassadors

· Partner with patient ambassadors and internal partners to develop and approve Ambassador Stories and Video content.

· Oversee attendance of Ambassadors at Internal meetings such as POAs, and help coordinate presentations to external patients.

· Help identify prospective Ambassadors via relationships with National and Regional KOLs and Patient Advocacy groups.

Patient Advocacy

· Partner with CLF to identify CTCL Centers of Excellence for inclusion in the CLF directory to assist patients in identifying local treatment centers.

Global Programs

· Partner with the Global team on programming involving US KOLs to identify KOLs with relevant expertise.

Job Requirements: Education

Bachelor’s degree in Life Science (or equivalent) required.

Experience:

  • 5–7 year track record of sustained, outstanding sales and account management experience in hematology/oncology. Ideally, the candidate should have worked for top-tier biotech or pharma company in field sales, product marketing, or medical / in the same or related therapeutic area. Demonstrated ability to identify exceptional top-tier HCPs who may be appropriate for the Company to engage with for collaborations or educational efforts which result in developing information and solutions for patients. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success. Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience.

Technical Skills

Proficient in M.S. Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic is required.
  • Detail oriented and excellent follow through.

Physical Demands:

Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work. This position will require up to 75% domestic and international travel. 

Working Conditions:

75% travel likely. This position will be field-based and will require approx. 50% overnight travel depending on territory. Willingness to attend customer meetings on weeknights/weekends 30% of the time.

Annualized base salary ranges from $158,080 – $197,600 plus sales incentive; actual salaries will vary and may be above or below this range commensurate with various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and merit. 

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.
