KYOCERA AVX Greenville LLC is Hiring a Facilities Support Manager Near Fountain, SC

Summary

Reports to the Facilities Manager and provides supervisory and administrative support to the maintenance department and staff. Uses knowledge of established maintenance practices and procedures to ensure completion and accuracy of both documentation and work being performed. Provides support to the plant's manufacturing effort by coordinating the fabrication and repair of all necessary facilities, machinery, and equipment.Work is performed within established guidelines and may be accomplished independently or under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager. The scope of this position is extensive and wide latitude is given to ensure that competing priorities are managed in a manner that benefits the overall manufacturing objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigns, schedules, and prioritizes work requests for facilities and production equipment repairs.
  • Trains, evaluates, and motivates maintenance and receiving staff to ensure their operating competency and consistently acceptable productivity and quality; supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance, electrical, ASR, and mechanical operations.
  • Assists in control of spare parts for inventory, tax, and accounting purposes.
  • Serves as contact person for external vendors that provide services relating to facilities, wastewater or EHS.
  • Serves as the site contact for regulatory, utility and property insurance. Determines feasibility, necessity, and need for follow up when interacting with outside personnel.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance program.Ensures timely completion of work with proper record keeping for maintenance, accounting, and insurance purposes.
  • Assists with engineering projects or changes to facilities and production equipment and often coordinates the activities of skilled trades contractors performing work on behalf of the company.
  • Ensures adherence to and enforces company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Encourages and enforces plant safety and health programs and practices, contributing to minimal worker lost time and employee physical wellbeing.
  • Serves as the point of contact for contract security and contract cleaning.
  • Serves as backup and support for environmental and OSHA compliance and overall operation for wastewater treatment.
  • Assists in documentation and record keeping for waste stream tracking, scrap, reclaim and waste management as needed.
  • Shares responsibility for department's material requisitions, timecards, work orders, and any other paperwork needed to coordinate the scheduling and completion of necessary work.
  • Attends training and development programs as directed by the company.
  • May, as needed, perform “hands on” work with technicians or as part of supervision.
  • May occasionally handle hazardous materials, using proper PPE.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline combined with five to seven years maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior managerial experience required.
  • Prior maintenance supervisory/managerial experience strongly preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of and maintenance experience with electrical, mechanical, PLC/control systems, and HVAC operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of precision measuring instruments, blueprint reading, electro-mechanical operations, process control techniques, OSHA standards and environmental compliance requirements.
