THE ROLE POSITION PROFILE: The Lead Bartender/Mixologist will assist the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing the hotel’s bar operations to include the curation of the cocktail list, layout, and operational flow of the bar. This will include the daily set-up, breakdown and overall cleanliness of the bar while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of company standards and profit maximization. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards. Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction. Avoid legal challenges by conforming to the regulations of the alcoholic beverage commission. Maximize bar profitability by ensuring portion control; monitoring accuracy of charges. Check customer’s identification to confirm that the customer is of drinking age. Ring guest checks; collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures. Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists. Know and comply with state liquor laws, obtain Tips certification. Ensure established pars are maintained. Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules. Helps to maintains beverage inventories at primary location ensuring controls are in place and record keeping is accurate. Provides tools to all properties to promote consistency across all properties. Helps to maintain organization of beer walk in, wine, and liquor room. Lead new cocktails for seasonal menus and train new staff on current selections while being knowledgeable of all bar offerings. Help to create and maintain side work, par levels, procedures and expectations. Attend pre-shift and notify entire team of bar changes or OOS items Hold team to standards and keep positivity within the team while holding team accountable for side work and work ethic. DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Experience: Six months – one (1) year experience in a food/beverage services environment or establishment. Skills and Abilities: Able to mix cocktails/drinks correctly. Provide exceptional service to all guests. Able to multitask and handle all the equipment especially in a bar that uses modern technology. Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages. Able to read, speak and understand English.
