KVC Health Systems is Hiring a Mockingbird Family Supervisor Near Topeka, KS

KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation. We are responsible for the care of all children who are served by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in the Kansas City Metro and East Regions. KVC’s clientele represent diverse backgrounds and KVC is seeking to enhance and expand our diversity in order to better serve our clients.


KVC is seeking a Supervisor-Mockingbird Family!!!

The Mockingbird Family Supervisor will oversee the implementation of the Mockingbird Family model, development of Constellations, and fidelity to the model. The supervisor will support the Mockingbird Family Liaison to uphold the fidelity of the Mockingbird Family structure, ensuring its principles and key features are consistently applied and adhered to. The supervisor will ensure progress is made in developing and maintaining a robust micro-community of caregivers, with a primary emphasis on the health, safety, growth, and permanence of participating children and adolescents. The supervisor will ensure the liaison provides a vital communication link between the Mockingbird Family team, KVC, and the Hub Homes they oversee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • Deeply comprehend the key features, principles, and fidelity requirements of Mockingbird Family, acting as the primary holder of fidelity within the program.
  • Attend all planning meetings and caregiver recruitment events as needed, ensuring fidelity is maintained throughout these processes.
  • Regularly interface with KVC Leadership team involved in the Mockingbird Family, providing them with comprehensive updates on the progress of the operating protocol customization, and the development and implementation of the Hub and Satellite Home recruitment and training plan.
  • Attend three out of twelve Constellation meetings annually.
  • Coach the Mockingbird Family Liaison regarding appropriate community resources, always considering the fidelity requirements of Mockingbird Family.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on KVC related information (KVC policy, Mockingbird Family operating protocols and expectations, etc.) to the Mockingbird Family Liaison and Constellations as needed, emphasizing the importance of fidelity.
  • Provide support upon request, such as making KVC meeting space available.
  • Attend monthly or bi-monthly Constellation meetings when support is needed, ensuring fidelity is a key topic in the meeting reminders, agenda, and discussions.
  • Collaborate with KVC Marketing and Communications on strategies to ensure foster parents in the geographic catchment areas associated with a Mockingbird Family Constellation are aware of the opportunity to join a Constellation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining fidelity once launched.
  • Collaborate with leaders from various departments to ensure child welfare workers understand the collaborative decision-making required for children placed in a Constellation, with a focus on maintaining fidelity in all decisions (ex. Speaking at staff meetings or team meetings).
  • Brief child welfare workers on the features of Mockingbird Family during staff turnover, highlighting the importance of maintaining fidelity when accessing support resources and streamlining communications with Hub Home and Constellation families (ex. Speaking at staff meetings or team meetings).
  • Attend required Mockingbird Family meetings and trainings, KVC Consultations with Mockingbird Family staff, Hub trainings, and Fidelity Assessment Reviews, ensuring fidelity is upheld in all aspects.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with KVC staff and Hub Homes, with a focus on supporting and guiding them to maintain fidelity.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in a field that is licensable by the BSRB

Licensure/Certification:

KS BSRB Licensure

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Experience and Skills:

At least five years of experience in child welfare
