We are looking to hire someone for the Jackson Roan and surrounding areas.

Home Finder Requirements;

Education : Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the social services field. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social service field preferred.

Licensure / Certification : Licensure by Social Work Board of Examiners or equivalent board.

Experience : Minimum two years experience in children and family services preferably in child placing services.

Job Description : Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned according to the qualification of staff and development of program.

  • Home Finder will be responsible for marketing and recruiting for new foster and adoptive homes.
  • Responsible for completing all necessary paperwork, background checks, and PRIDE Training for all new foster and adoptive parents.
  • The Home Finder will be responsible for completing a comprehensive home study.
  • Home Finder will be responsible for successfully matching the child with a foster or adoptive parent.
  • The Home Finder will complete all KVC initial paperwork for the child and family to be entered into the KVC system.
  • The Home Finder will be knowledgeable of all child placing regulations and will ensure all homes meet these requirements.
  • The Home Finder will be responsible for gathering all background information on new foster children on new foster children placed in foster care within 3 days of placement.
  • The Home Finder will be responsible for participating either in person or by written documents of any progress or problems in the foster home to the treatment team every 90 days.

If a problem arises before the 90 days the Home Finder will alert the Director of Permanency.

  • The Home Finder will travel (possibly to multiple counties in a service area) and be able to work in homes and families that are served.
  • Home Finder will visit the foster home quarterly for safety checks. If a problems arise in the home prior to quarterly safety checks the home finder will visit the home as directed by the supervisor.
  • Home Finder will be responsible for conducting on-going in-service training for all foster parents and waiting adoptive parents.
  • Home Finder will be responsible for completing all re-certification of foster and adoptive parents prior to the due dates.
  • Home Finder adoption worker will follow all agency protocols and the WV Child Placing Regulation.
  • Home Finder adoption worker will make monthly home visits to the adoptive home for a period of 6 months or until adoption finalization hearing.
  • Meets with Director of Permanency staff for a minimum of one hour bi-weekly to provide supervision.
  • Available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to other Child Placing staff and Director of Permanency , clients and foster / adoptive families as per crisis call schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring staff meet performance expectations including contract requirements, timelines, regulations and laws.
  • Supports staff to meet their needs, as evidence by supervisory evaluations completed by staff.
  • Provides direct services per program, state, and contract guidelines.
  • Completes all required paperwork and follows agency policies and procedures within timelines to ensure smooth paperwork flow.
  • Maintains working relationships and communicates with DHHR, FFTA and other community partners.
  • Participates in recruitment, on-going training and provision of support groups of family foster / adoptive homes.
  • Attend meetings, seminars and other educations functions as identified by the supervisor or agency director.
  • Completes Essential Learning Core Competencies for Directors and annual courses according to agency schedule.
  • Obtain 40 CEU's per year, including 20 by June 30. Obtain CEU's as required by licensure and maintain all licensure requirements.
