KVC Kansas is seeking to hire a Director of Child Placing Agency!!!

KVC Kansas is seeking a Director of Child Placing to serve the KC Metro Region. The Director of Child Placing Services supervises Child Placing staff who are providing direct services to children and foster families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Other duties may be assigned according to the qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • Continues to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family centered, connected to the community; and which relies on evidence-based practice necessary to support contract services.
  • Meets with Child Placing staff a minimum of one hour bi-weekly to provide supervision.
  • Available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to Child Placing staff, clients and foster families, as per crisis call schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring staff meet performance expectations including contract requirements, timelines, regulations and laws.
  • Supports staff to meet their needs, as evidence by supervisory evaluations completed by staff.
  • Assigns new referrals to Child Placing staff, based on staff strengths and skills, within program/contract guidelines.
  • Provides direct services per program, state, and contract guidelines.
  • Ensures services are in compliance with all regulatory standards and contract terms and conditions.
  • Completes all required paperwork and follows agency policies and procedures within timelines, to ensure smooth paperwork flow.
  • Attends and participates in all scheduled meetings, court hearings, consultations, and staff meetings, as required.
  • Acquires and develops resources to meet identified needs of clients and staff.
  • Provides positive feedback to clients and staff.
  • Provides culturally relevant and sensitive services to clients and ensures staff do the same.
  • Provides positive field instruction and supervision of Social Work interns as requested.
  • Provides back up support to contract services as requested.
  • Observes children for signs of abuse and/or neglect.
  • Participates as an organizational trainer, as assigned.
  • Maintains working relationships and communications with KDHE, DCF, and other community partners.
  • Understands contract requirements and work to improve contract specific outcomes.
  • Participates in the recruitment, on-going training and provision of support groups of family foster homes.
  • Participates in the development of program budget, monitors budget and recommends modifications as needed to provide services within approved program budget.
  • Attends required trainings.

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed by the Kansas BSRB.
Experience: Three years experience in children and family services.
