Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of front-end wheel loader and fork trucks. This includes a high level of customer service, loading trucks, locating and relocating stockpiles as needed, and performing various cleanup activities.
Must be familiar with and adhere to service requirements, equipment and operator limitations and safe operating procedures at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of equipment interior and exterior as well as general maintenance such as greasing, fluid and fuel checking, filling and washing of equipment exterior weekly, and completion and faxing of daily inspection report
Maintain orderliness of yard and warehouse; clean and clear bands, wood, plastic, empty pallets, and weeds; organize all hardscape and bagged items in an orderly manner
Pulling and transferring all orders in a safe, accurate and timely manner
Responsibility for clear and accurate inventory labeling, accurate tracking of all products delivered, and for ensuring appropriate inventory levels to meet store needs
Become knowledgeable regarding the composition and application of the product line with the ability to assess customer needs, promote and answer questions regarding the variety of products available to customers, and provide useful and applicable solutions
Organizing and executing various projects as assigned
Meet store objective by following daily and weekly objectives as set by store manager
Follow all Kurtz Bros., Inc. safety guidelines
Maintain a high-level of customer service to internal and external customers
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
1-3 years' experience using a front-end loader, tow motor
Willingness to learn and grow within the role
Prior experience with hand tools, preferred, but not required

Knowledge/Skills

Flexible to work various hours during busy season (spring through early summer)
Good communication and listening skills
Friendly and positive demeanor with a focus on providing excellent customer service
Demonstrating initiative with regards to responsibilities
Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
Friendly, positive, and willing to be of service to others
Able to quickly develop a working knowledge of Kurtz Bros., Inc. products and recycling

Proficiency in office IT suite (excel, word and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new programs/software, preferred
Ability to operate a computer and cash register terminal, preferred in order to assist inside the store

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration.
