Kulture Khazana is a vibrant startup specializing in puzzles, toys, craft kits, and color powder inspired by the rich tapestry of South Asian culture. 2022 FedEx Small Business Grant Contest Grand Prize Winner, and University at Buffalo Cultivator program participant – Kulture Khazana is a fast-growing purpose-driven company.

Founded by Akruti Babaria, a dedicated mompreneur, our company is experiencing significant growth in revenue and scale. As the founder focuses on marketing strategy, product creation, and sales lead generation, we are seeking a dynamic General Manager to spearhead operations and business development, playing a pivotal role in our continued success.

Akruti has grown the company year over year and currently has 2 part-time employees. This position is an opportunity to join the team as the first full-time hire and be part of the growth while growing with the company.

Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and seamless workflows.
  • Execute new sales channels and explore opportunities for market expansion.
  • Implement effective inventory management and forecasting strategies.

Supply Chain and Logistics:

  • Lead negotiations with manufacturers to optimize production costs and timelines.
  • Set pricing strategies for logistics and explore opportunities for cost savings.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to enhance supply chain efficiency.

Sales and Marketing Support:

  • Manage wholesale sales, ensuring growth and profitability.
  • Strategize with the Founder and execute trade show planning.
  • Strategize with the Founder and execute event participation

Financial Management:

  • Track cost of goods sold (COGS) and compare against forecasts.
  • Work on actual vs. forecast analysis to optimize financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar operational role, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor and manufacturer relations.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory management and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage wholesale sales channels effectively.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, cost management, and budgeting.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

More about the role:

  • The first 30 days in the role will be Operations focused
  • In the next 30 days, the candidatewill be able to independently take over operational and logistical functions of the company
  • In the next 30 days, the candidate will start getting involved in learning about sales and marketing functions
  • This position is contract to hire – first 6 months will be a 40 hour a week contract, then hired as a full time
