Position Title: Weekend Content Manager/Digital Content Producer

Status: Full-time, non-exempt

About us: NonStop Local KHQ is the Inland Northwest’s leader in local news, weather and sports coverage on television and digital platforms! Affiliated with the NBC network, KHQ is the flagship station of KHQ Incorporated and Cowles Montana Media.

About this opportunity: KHQ-TV, the Inland Northwest's Local News Leader has an immediate opening for a person who loves taking the lead on creating content for all platforms – linear and digital. You will work as the “quarterback of the newsroom” on weekends - leading our coverage plans with different stories that affect our target audience. This position is tailor-made for individuals who love to be in the middle of the action and who are great at juggling multiple things. You will be responsible for managing news assignments, coordinating logistics monitoring news wires and scanners, and coordinating assignments with the company's other Content Managers and the Cloud Content Manager. On the other three days of the week, you will help create content for our digital platform. If you “know” social media, love to write, have a good grasp on grammar, aren’t afraid to talk to people and are competitive, this job is for you. You don’t have to have any journalism experience (but it’s a plus); we can teach you how to be an awesome Journalist! You will be instructed on how to have good news judgement and create coverage on social media - to go along with our news content.

Required Qualifications & Skills: Knowledge of and desire to participate in social media; Previous experience with a professional broadcast, print, or online news organization, either as a staff member or intern is a plus; willingness to work overtime when necessary; ability to adapt in a changing media and technology landscape.

Other Requirements: Passion and dedication to news; ability to meet daily deadlines and work cooperatively with other staff members; experience editing news copy and/or video.

Salary Range: $19.23/hour - $21.15/hour Signing Bonus
