Job Description:This Assistant Manager will assist in the oversight of Horseback employees and the day-to-day operations. The position focuses on employee training and improvement with tours, safety, and education throughout the department. Additionally, the training of employees, the assistant manager will assist in customer-related issues.Essential Responsibilities: Effectively conducts training and supervise team of trail guidesNew hire training Continuing education for riding, safety, and narration for current employees Gather information and conduct educational training for riding and Hawaiian cultureConduct trail guide tour checks to ensure consistent quality in tour and safety Respond to guest inquiries and feedbackAssist with herd health and tack safetySchedule repairs to depot and trails as neededManage and file incident reportsMaintain the daily staff schedule and resolve coverage issues as neededDetermine and implement changes day to day for trails, pending weather conditionsKnowledgeable in all aspects of daily operations and resolve any issues that may present in that dayEffectively communicates information for day to day and potential changes that can happen due to staffing, herd or weatherAssists with tours on an as needed basis Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years supervisory experienceAdvance experience in riding and training horsesKnowledgeable in basic vet care, tack fitting, and barn careProficient computer skills using Microsoft applicationPreferred Qualities:Experienced leader with excellent communication skills for the front-line staff and upper managementAbility to recognize issues with day-to-day operation and confidently implement changesAbility to independently make discussions to better the day for staff, herd, and guests
