Position Overview
The Program Coordinator, Learning Support Services, supports the University Academic Support Centers (UASC) leadership in the ongoing development of the Center for Learning and Writing Support and the culture of learning at the University of Kansas by supporting the Supplemental Instruction, Tutoring, and Peer Academic Coaching, and Peer-Assisted Learning Support programs, ensuring the Center for Learning and Writing Support provides a range of adaptive, student-focused programming.
The Program Coordinator, Learning Support Services, primarily focuses on supporting administrative responsibilities and collaborating with respective program managers.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides peer-facilitated study sessions in-person and online to all students in specific large lecture classes and integrates course content with learning skills and study strategies.
Tutoring provides course-specific individual tutoring based on student demand through multiple modalities, including in-person, virtual, and drop-in tutoring.
The Peer Academic Coaching program offers individual and group support to help students set and achieve goals and develop behaviors, habits, and strategies for college success and life.
Peer-Assisted Learning Support (PALS) provides ongoing academic support to identified courses in the form of large group study sessions, individual tutoring, and study table opportunities.
The Program Coordinator, Learning Support Services, works as part of a collaborative leadership team to manage the daily operations of the Center for Learning and Writing Support and reports to the Student Program Manager, Learning Support Services.
This is a position within the Center for Learning and Writing Support, a unit in the University Academic Support Centers, which offers programs and services to students, faculty, and staff across all writing levels and disciplines.

University Academic Support Centers (UASC) is a comprehensive student support program consisting of three unique centers designed to strengthen the academic skills and written communication of students at the University of Kansas.
UASC supports the University’s commitment to the academic success and holistic development of students. UASC programs encourage student participation both in and out of the classroom, support academic and personal development, and link students to other campus and community resources for academic and personal support and development.
University Academic Support Centers is a department within Academic Success.
Job Duties :
40% : Collaborates with the Program Managers to assist in the administrative support and daily function of Supplemental Instruction (SI), Tutoring, Peer Academic Coaching, and PALS programs, including but not limited to assisting with peer educator hiring, training, scheduling, observations, and professional development.
Additionally, it offers support with program marketing, faculty outreach, and workshops focused on promoting a culture of learning at KU.
Maintains involvement in relevant professional organizations and participates in scholarly and professional development activities consistent with current trends, developments, and high impact practices in learning assistance programs and writing centers.
Position Requirements
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
