Description

We are a non-emergency wheelchair and stretcher transportation provider dedicated to providing quality transportation for the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center. We are searching for professional drivers who are dedicated, punctual, courteous, and available for Overnight coverage.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pick-up clients discharged from the emergency room using company provided vehicle. Provides the assistance required to safely board clients and caregivers.
• Transports clients discharged from the Gainesville VA Medical Center.
• Transport clients to and from Gainesville, and surrounding counties.
• Ensures wheelchairs, stretchers, and passengers are properly secured before starting vehicle.
• On arrival at medical facility, assists clients in exiting the vehicle and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas.
• Check the vehicle to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
• Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures.
• Operate mobile devices, company email, various software systems and operate GPS unit.
• Pre and post-vehicle safety and maintenance checks.
• Follow safe loading and unloading procedures.
• Communicate transport details with dispatch.
• Possess a friendly and courteous attitude when transporting clients.
• Other functions may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

· Must hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.

· High school diploma or equivalent and fluency in English required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and position clients frequently.*
• Must be able to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.*
• Ability to drive for over an hour, when required*

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, MVR screening, TB screening, and physical.
• Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
• Maintain a strong attendance record.
• Safely operate a wheelchair passenger and stretcher transportation vehicle.
• Must be reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in case of emergency.
• Must be available for overnight discharges from 10:00 pm – 6:00 am Monday - Friday*
• Must be capable of driving in inclement weather. *

*$16.85 hr plus an additional $4.57 hr in benefits.
