It is family owned and operated.The company is operated with team and solo drivers, top of the line tractors and trailers equipped for long haul operations with air ride trailers and dry vans. All the equipment is serviced and maintained by our own shop on a regular basis subject to D.O.T. and I.C.C. rules and regulations.Our work environment includes:

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Safety Policies and Procedures:
  • Collaborate with management to develop comprehensive safety policies and procedures tailored to the trucking industry.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and standards to ensure the company's policies align with legal requirements.
  • Training and Education:
  • Conduct safety training programs for drivers, warehouse staff, and other relevant personnel.
  • Educate employees on safe driving practices, hazardous materials handling, and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate with external training providers when necessary.
  • Monitoring Compliance:
  • Regularly audit company operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct internal investigations in response to accidents, incidents, or safety concerns.
  • Address compliance issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Safety Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and training activities.
  • Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Equipment Inspections:
  • Oversee regular inspections and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and other equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to address any safety-related issues promptly.
  • Emergency Response Planning:
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for accidents, spills, and other critical incidents.
  • Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
  • Safety Culture Promotion:
  • Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization by promoting awareness and accountability.
  • Recognize and reward employees for their commitment to safety.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, transportation management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in safety management within the transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze data effectively.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, SMS, or equivalent) is a plus.

Working Conditions:
The position may require occasional travel to various company locations, as well as the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate training sessions or respond to emergencies.
