Summary/Overview:

KBRA (KBRA Holdings, LLC) is seeking a Ratings Operations Data Steward for the New York office. Ratings Operations is part of our Content Management & Governance team and focuses on creating and managing KBRA’s Ratings Data

This role involves working collaboratively with members of the analytical teams, IT, and others to ensure that procedures are followed to support the needs of the business and support compliance with the Company’s overall business and regulatory requirements. In this role the candidate will ensure the smooth daily operation of Ratings Data Entry as well as custom reporting, escalation of issues to the proper teams, collaboration with internal analytical teams regarding the rating management process. The Data Steward is expected to become a subject matter expert on the database, data model, and systems used and managed by the Data Steward team. The candidate must have good communication and organizational skills, have high data quality standards, and be adept with SQL querying and creating reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Data Steward is responsible for supporting the Analytical Business Units by organizing, maintaining, and analyzing information and data to improve the efficiency of data-related processes.
  • Work with various analytical teams to capture and input data into a centralized database.
  • The Data Steward is expected to follow established standard operation procedures for data processing and is encouraged to improve and automate the manual steps of processes.
  • Ability to synthesize information from various sources, including internal documents from the analysts’ work products, data feeds, external sources, research, and media platforms, etc.
  • Support the quality of the database by analyzing records, evaluating data sources, and implementing accurate updates.
  • Assist in new deal and entity creation processes.
  • Handle ad hoc data updates and projects as required.
  • Participate in multiple data management projects including data analysis, data profiling, and data quality.
  • Documenting rules around data collection, storage, and use.
  • Collaborate with external data vendors regarding data issues.

Key Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of entry level data entry or data management experience.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a highly demanding environment.
  • Some experience in financial markets, specifically fixed income, entity management, workflows process management will be helpful to be successful in this role.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate, timely, and complete work products.
  • Exceptional Customer service skills and ability to communicate persuasively and concisely with members of various seniority.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Excel.
  • Self-starter -- with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver action-oriented results.
  • Take pride in learning and want opportunities to learn throughout your day-to-day.

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a global financial services organization, internships included.
  • A business-related degree [Science or Engineering skills are also considered highly transferable for this role.]
  • Experience of working within a support team, who is used to handling data systems and solving problems under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Python programming language.
  • Basic knowledge of Agile methodology and work management tools such as Jira and other Atlassian products.
  • Solid verbal, written and presentation skills are essential.

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $65,000 to $75,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors. other job-related factors.
