Overview
Job Summary:
Performs advanced technical activities including preparation of sterile products, narcotic control, outpatient pharmacy operations, unit based drug modules (Pyxis/Diebold) inventory management or drug order receiving and inventory management. Performs two or more of the following functions. Works with dangerous substances and or highly technical equipment. Must recognize and avoid conditions that place patient safety at risk.
Education, Experience and Training:
High school diploma or GED
Completion of at least one course of algebra (or high math equivalent) and one course of chemistry or biology
Minimum one (1) year pharmacy technician experience.
Pharmacy Technician Certification or 6 years pharmacy tech experience with demonstrated skills in unit dose, sterile products, distribution, and retail service lines.
Registration with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy is required.
