Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health is Hiring a Healing Arts Manager- FT Near Stockbridge, MA

 
 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Healing Arts Manager serves as a member of the Healing Arts team and is responsible for the daily operations of the Healing Arts department.

This role ensures that the department meets departmental objectives including high levels of customer satisfaction, employee morale, and overseeing the Healing Arts team ( Practitioners, Administrative Staff and Independent Contractors) and assisting the Director in maintaining growing departmental profitability. The Healing Arts Manager provides input to the Director of Guest Experience for critical business decisions and strategic direction of the department. 

The ideal candidate should have high standards with a keen eye for detail. We are looking for someone with a proven ability to lead a large group of both professionals and guest service staff. Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish positive relationships is essential. Knowledge of holistic health care as well as maintaining a Massage or Esthetics MA license is a plus.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Hires personnel who have a natural talent with people. Trains, develops, and empowers employees to engage with customers; creates a quality experience, owns, and immediately resolves customer concerns in an organized and positive manner.
  • Provides strong leadership with dedication to onboarding, training, mentoring, and motivating the team to provide excellent customer service and satisfaction. (Proactively communicates with staff to develop a harmonious team)
  • Creates and approves departmental payroll both in our timekeeping system and hospitality software. 
  • Ensures delivery of effective meetings and trainings within the department.
  • Inventory, ordering and invoicing of products and equipment used in Healing Arts, according to the departmental budget.
  • Creates and manages Healing Arts revenues and expense budgets in partnership with Director of Guest Experience. 
  • Creates and maintains administrative policy and procedures manual and updates as needed.
  • Acts as a Resort Suite expert and supports the team with issues and systems training as needed after being trained
  • Provides reporting and inputs for budgets, optimizing operational spending and staffing levels.
  • Analyzes guest feedback and provides strategic direction to continuously improve overall guest experience. 
  • Responsible for leading guest services recovery following departmental guidelines. Builds effective relationships with guests and identify guest’s expectations.
  • Analyzes and solves any billing mistakes and questions in a timely fashion. 
  • Effectively manages schedules so that departmental coverage and organizational needs are met.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of the Healing Arts systems and processes along with a strong knowledge of treatments.
  • Interfaces with multiple internal departments and external vendors to ensure strong communication, and departmental needs are supportive and client/customer satisfaction. 
  • Works with the Director to develop annual goals and establish policies and procedures to support them; generate sales, operate efficiently, provide excellent customer service, and build a positive work environment. 
  • Partners with the Director to ensure compliance to professional standards, state and local licensing and regulations as they affect the area within the organization. 
  • Maintains and develops external relationships with local training organizations. 
  • Maintains and develops a culture of best practices in staff health and safety in conjunction with Safety Committee. 

SCHEDULE

9am-5:30pm or 10am-6:30pm

Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS

  • BA and/or degree in Spa Management or related industry. 
  • Previous experience managing large diverse populations (20 plus preferred)
  • 3 plus years managing a spa, healing arts center, or related hospitality area. 
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge and experience of property management software.
