Job Description
Reviewing financial statements and reports prepared by the team to ensure that they are accurate and in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
Providing technical guidance and support to the team on complex accounting issues and transactions
Monitoring and enforcing compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations, including staying up to date on changes and communicating them to the team
Overseeing the team's work to ensure that accounting policies and procedures are being followed consistently
Managing the team of accounting and administrative professionals, including setting goals and objectives, providing feedback and coaching, and evaluating performance

Responsibilities The role will cover the backoffice process end to end from contract intake to cash management of the reinsurance assumed business. This include ensuring that the team is following the company's established policies consistently. They would also be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to the team, as well as ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations Qualifications
At least 8 years' experience in the reinsurance and insurance industry preferably in the technical accounting & administration operations
Technical expertise: The candidate should have a strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations, as well as experience with complex accounting issues and transactions.
Organizational skills: The candidate should have strong organizational skills and be able to manage their team and workload effectively.
Communication skills: The candidate should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to effectively communicate accounting concepts and ideas to team members and stakeholders.
Attention to detail: The candidate should have a high level of attention to detail and be able to accurately review financial statements and reports to ensure their accuracy and compliance
Leadership: As the head of the team, the candidate should have strong leadership skills and be able to motivate and guide their team towards achieving their goals.
Problem-solving skills: The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to identify and address accounting issues and challenges as they arise.
Interpersonal skills: The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience in the financial services industry, preferably in insurance and/or reinsurance
College degree in Financial and / or accounting education or equivalent work experience
