Kraemer North America is Hiring a CAD Tech/Grade Control Specialist Near Castle Rock, CO

Kraemer North America is currently looking for a CAD Tech/Grade Control Specialist to join our team in our Mountain West Region (Castle Rock, CO). As a CAD Tech/Grade Control Specialist, you will play a large role in all field processes relating to operating GPS, machine control systems, and survey work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration and compliance of Kraemer Safety and Quality Programs
  • Understand field processes of field layout and operations
  • Communicate professionally with clients, contracts and team members
  • Assist with the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Create, manage and maintain project layout and construction data, including creating machine and data collector files for the projects
  • Understand and perform machine control and field device upload processes
  • Process work orders for QC, field-to-office information or as-builts
  • Provide interpretation of design plans to construction/staking/laying out
  • Ensure surveys are compliant with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Perform calculations such as alignments, drainage, structures and roadway modeling
  • Establish and maintain standardized machine control/survey models and construction survey data for project-level operations
  • Perform earthwork reports from field-collected data
  • Train field crews to operate GPS equipment and machine control properly
  • Help keep project CAD/Survey data organized and tracked within structured system
  • Assist with conducting quantity calculations and drawings as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or civil Engineering desired, or equivalent heavy civil work or surveyor experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience building 3D surfaces with Trimble Business Center (TBC), Carlson Civil, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, Terramodel, or related software is preferred
  • Proficient in Machine Control Modeling, BIM is a plus
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making and/or problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of and ability to read construction plan

Hiring range: $60,000 - $100,000; base salary is dependent on multiple factors: education, experience, skills, market rates, internal equity and/or location.
