The Role:

• Works independently to specify, plan, design, develop, test, and support software components as assigned.

• Works with team to establish necessary requirements, specifications, and test plans for software product validation.

• Responsible for translating requirements into design and implementation of well-structured and documented software components.

• Presents/Participates with the team in design reviews and code inspections in a constructive manner.

• Implement new software component designs or enhancements to existing software products; participate in the implementation of more complex subsystems and systems.

• Implements solutions to assigned defect issues.

• Anticipates system faults, failure modes, and unusual events, making sure the software adequately mitigates identified risks.

• Develops automated unit test cases to ensure software meets the design criteria.

Requirements

• Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related Engineering discipline.

• Minimum of 5 years professional experience developing software in C and/or C is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of work experience with multi-threaded software design and development is required.

• Experience on C 11/14/17, STL, Multithreading in C .

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

• Professional experience writing code for ARM Cortex M microcontrollers.

• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) software development and bare-metal microprocessor development.

• Hands-on experience bringing up new boards.

• Thorough knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet.

• Experience on C 11/14/17, STL, Multithreading in C

• Experience debugging with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and Jtag/SWD/ST-LINK/V2 In-Circuit Debugger/Programmer debuggers.

• Able to read/understand at least the digital portion of electrical schematics.

• Read and understand microprocessor and peripheral data-sheets.

• Available to work on-site.

• Motion control experience.

• Demonstrated positive work ethic with a strong commitment to achieving project goals.

• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Demonstrated understanding of development in a process-oriented/regulated environment and adhering to a quality management system is required.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience working with Real-time Operating systems such as Free RTOS, and SMx.

• Experience working with STM32 Microcontroller.

• Experience working with latest developer tools: Visual Studio/CMake, Visual GDB

• Experience with the Agile Scrum process is a plus.

• A demonstrated track record in embedded software development for electro-mechanical systems, preferably for medical devices or other regulated product domains.

• Experience with software development for medical devices and IEC 62304 compliance.

• Demonstrated knowledge of medical device design controls (21 CFR Part 820).
