The Role:

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and capable Software Architect to lead this software and digital transformation! Digital continues to be an important area of growth and on-going investment.

As the Enterprise Software Architect, you will be responsible for the coordination, alignment and harmonization of Software Architecture across LSAG in order to achieve a differentiated LSAG-wide digital lab strategy in coordination with broader Enterprise Software and Instrumentation roadmaps and initiatives. Using your extensive software architectural knowledge and experience, as well as an understanding of the latest digital, cloud and IoT technologies, you will collaborate with a team of product line-specific Software Architects to achieve the digital transformation of the analytical lab.

In this new role, you will be a key member of the LSAG Product and Platform Office with direct access and visibility to R&D leadership teams across the business. You will collaborate with leaders from R&D, Marketing and Digital to create a framework that will guide project teams to investigate and drive the development of new software products, processes, and technologies for customers in the analytical laboratory space. As a recognized authority in your field, high-level managers will look to you for consultancy on the architectural design of multiple products and organizationally complex programs across functions and divisions.

Responsibilities

• As the Enterprise Software Architect, in close collaboration with the individual product line Software Architects, you will oversee and define the architecture, design and delivery of new software solutions, processes and technologies 
• As a key technical contributor, you will document, research and review design specifications in coordination with divisional Software Architects and Developers using broad software engineering concepts in digital technologies, including IoT, cloud and SaaS for customers in the analytical laboratory space

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Typically 10 years relevant experience in the architectural design and implementation of software products in life sciences, biopharma or related instrumentation with at least 5 years' experience in developing commercial grade on-prem client / server applications and/or embedded software applications 
• Experience with containerized and cloud deployments, JavaScript, OPC and Angular is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently towards broadly defined objectives
• Strong analytical skills as they relate to establishing software architecture and working with software product development teams
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a culturally diverse environment
