The Role:

The Clinical Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist is accountable for providing outstanding technical and clinical product support to health care providers including Interventional Cardiologists (IC), Electrophysiology (EP) physicians, and laboratory staff for catheters and systems to enable practitioners to confidently perform advanced structural heart and ablation procedures.

 

You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships to support product usage and gain the right to offer new products or services and partner with Territory Managers, Ultrasound, Field Service Engineers and Field Management to ensure alignment and coordination of activities to meet business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical product and technical assistance and training to IC/EP physicians and staff on the effective use of ICE catheters in IC and EP procedures.
  • Educate customers on the use within specific procedures to optimize usage and ensure the clinician and patient receive the full benefit of capabilities.
  • Become an expert on 3D ICE use in multiple clinical procedure types.
  • Use consultative selling techniques to identify potential sales opportunities within the account.
  • Create awareness of solutions and facilitate Territory Sales Manager (TM) contact with the key decision makers to drive incremental business.
  • Support the evaluation of new products and provide clinical feedback to marketing and sales
  • Provide ongoing support for company-sponsored clinical/marketing trials and registries
  • Provide customer insight to positively impact the strategic plan and product development
  • Keep abreast of new products in assigned discipline and of current and future IGTD products
  • Consistently work to improve clinical acumen, competitive product knowledge, customer relationship/sales skills to become of greater value to customers
  • Maximize customer case support capability through proper planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Drive collaboration and maintains consistent, open lines of communication across the assigned responsibilities with internal partners including regional teams (i.e. TMs, Ultrasound team and other business units), as well as support personnel (i.e. Marketing, FSE, RBD).
  • Drive collaboration and maintains consistent, open lines of communication with external partners.
  • Develop and share best practices with US Field Sales and Service colleagues and internal partners and develop and grow mutually beneficial customer relationships within and beyond the EP/IC lab, including, but not limited to physicians, nurses and technicians, clinical and hospital administrators and staff.
  • Stay current on company products instructions for use (IFU), best practices and technical troubleshooting, as well as relevant scientific clinical literature and new product information.
  • Prioritize and appropriately respond to requests in a high-stress environment and maintain composure and problem-solving focus during stressful interactions.
  • Engage in diagnostic dialogue with multiple internal and external business partners and stakeholders, and formulate solutions based on dialogue and input gained during session.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 4 years of relevant professional work/military experience
  • 2 years of experience in clinical echocardiography lab
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in adult or pediatric echocardiography lab or relevant work experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), Radiologic Technologist (RT) or other technical discipline within the IC/EP clinical environment.
  • Must have and maintain advanced clinical ultrasound and echocardiography knowledge of technology, advancements and the business landscape.
  • Strong clinical and technical knowledge, with the confidence to knowledgably engage key stakeholders such as physicians, clinical staff, nurses, department managers and supply chain to present a value proposition.
  • Professional presence that influences desired results with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to determine customer needs and communicate needs to Field Sales and Marketing Teams
  • Maintain clinical knowledge of healthcare industry, disease states, and therapeutic and institutional trends.
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • Will be required to maintain advanced clinical knowledge of cardiac ablation and cardio imaging, technical knowledge of EP technology, Structural heart disease procedures, advancements, and the business landscape.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge of healthcare industry, disease states, and therapeutic and institutional trends.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 60% overnight locally, regionally, and nationally, sometimes on short notice.
  • Position requires sitting for extended periods of time, working in a hospital laboratory setting, attending live patient cases, and wearing protective gear (i.e. lead aprons), and willing to work variable hours to meet patient needs
  • May be required to lift up to 60 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrophysiology/Cath Lab or EP/Cardiovascular Device Industry experience.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in adult or pediatric echocardiography
  • Experience working with highly complex technical systems and/or working in a critical patient care setting.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to see how things should be and the passion to make them so
  • Effective and timely communicator with co-workers and all levels of patient care team.
  • Self-starter who performs well with autonomy and can be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Problem solver who can think critically in high pressure environments.
