The Role:

The Capture Management Director will lead critical capture efforts to secure new and re-compete contracts within the air traffic management domain for the~$1B/year Mission Networks sector, part of the Aviation Systems segment. The capture manager directs all aspects of the pursuit and proposal process including the development of management solutions, cost elements and collaborating with subject matter experts to generate technical solutions. This role collaborates closely with division and sector P&L leadership, Business Development, Proposal Operations, Contracts & Finance to formulate solutions that meet our customers’ needs and deliver optimal value.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develops capture strategy including business solutions for pursuit of opportunities
  • Gathers market intelligence, discerns market segment information, and completes competitive assessments
  • Leads storyboard and win- theme development activities
  • Leads gate reviews and capture team activities from pursuit decision through contract award
  • Recommends teaming relationships to address gaps
  • Oversees development of the price-to-win strategy and provides pricing recommendations
  • Supports development of communication and outreach plans
  • Conducts and participates in color team reviews
  • Identifies the right pursuit team resources
  • Communicates with customer as appropriate to clarify and shape proposal prior to final RFP
  • Supports creation of white papers and strategic briefings to communicate strategy and progress
  • Develops and manages the capture budget

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 7 years leading and winning multi-year opportunities of $250M or more
  • Experience leading cross-functional, highly experience professionals through collaboration / matrix organization
  • Experience developing, managing, and executing comprehensive capture plans following Shipley Capture Management best practices
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Government budget and authorization process

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and sound business judgment
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Senior Executives within the company on status, risks and support needed
  • Experience capturing FAA opportunities, understanding of the AMS
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Active Secret clearance or higher preferred
  • Experience using Miller Heiman Strategic Selling
