Position Overview: As the Director of Quality, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across two manufacturing facilities in Cottage Grove, MN, and a soon-to-be-opened out-of-state facility. You will lead a team of quality professionals, drive strategic quality initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Foster a collaborative "We" mentality within the quality organization, emphasizing teamwork and shared goals over individual achievements.
  • Identify high-performing individuals within the team and facilitate their growth through mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Manufacturing Experience:
  • Utilize your manufacturing expertise to drive quality improvements, even if your background is not specifically in windows and doors manufacturing.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) and IT Experience:
  • Develop and implement QMS strategies, including integrating new facilities into existing systems.
  • Provide specific examples of overcoming barriers and creating solutions for unarticulated business needs.
  • Change Management and Influence:
  • Effectively influence and drive change both upwards and downwards within the organizational structure.
  • Strategic Thinking:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive quality vision and strategy for both Cottage Grove, MN and Locust Grove, GA facilities, aligning with customer, product, and market requirements.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, vendors, and industry experts to ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards.
  • Team Development Leadership:
  • Lead and develop a team of quality professionals, including managers, supervisors, engineers, and regulatory affairs personnel.
  • Champion talent development and succession planning within the quality organization.
  • Work Process Standardization Integration:
  • Establish a culture of quality across the organization, emphasizing compliance with established Quality Management Systems.
  • Implement standardized processes, workplace organization, and training programs to ensure quality excellence.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Utilize technical expertise to recommend and coordinate cross-functional support to resolve quality issues.
  • Oversee investigations, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving activities to drive process improvements.
  • Process Improvements Change Management:
  • Lead improvement initiatives to increase performance and efficiency in quality processes and systems.
  • Drive sustained change by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Metrics Reporting:
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators for quality, driving improvement initiatives to enhance performance.
  • Establish and maintain metrics for reduced non-conformance rates, improved yields, CAPA effectiveness, audit outcomes, and supplier management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality leadership roles within manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record of strategic thinking, change management, and team development.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
