Job Overview

To ensure that Komatsu's interests are better protected in the Pricing area by making pricing recommendations on spar requests with pricing authority within Business Plan levels. Lead in gathering of better competitive price data from our distributors and customers to enhance our competitive price and product value analysis. Assist the Pricing group with training of DB or KAC personnel in any Marketing Administration software or system - SAP and E-spar. The position is responsible for the implementation of marketing programs and approval of SPARs within KA's Machine Discount Authority.

Scope

Manage an audit function that will be reviewing approximately 4,500 accepted spars per year through the review of sales orders and or internal company data to determine if the spar discount is warranted based on the actual final sales price. Assist in managing the marketing program budget and related spend and utilization data. Assume pricing responsibility for selected DB's and their spars received at KAC. The position has a shared impact on total annual sales and significantly impacts the Division's ability to meet long range business plans. The incumbent interfaces with Product Marketing, CE Sales, Marketing Accounting, KF, MIS and Distributor Personnel.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the SPAR audit function through review of RFA requests to ensure that the correct discounts are issued and KAC interests are protected while maximizing sales and profitability within Business Plan levels.
  • Assume pricing responsibility for selected DB's through Spar requests sent into KA via E-Spar within Business Plan profitability objectives.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing process improvement measures that will improve the quality and increase the quantity of data from which to make better pricing decisions.
  • Extract and analyze data from SAP in combination with other KAC business tools to provide Marketing Administration Price Realization and margin performance versus the Business Plan objectives.
  • Responsible for leading a team of cross functional managers within Pricing and Marketing to develop reporting tools for e-spar and other applications to deliver more meaningful data for pricing decisions.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • BA or BS in a Business-related field
  • 3-5 years of equivalent work experience in the construction equipment industry.
  • Ability to coordinate and conduct multiple tasks simultaneously, in a timely and accurate manner
  • Strong analytical skills utilizing SAP, Excel, Word, Power BI, Access, and Power Point
  • Knowledge of KAC pricing and cost assumptions along with an understanding of our equipment and its applications in the marketplace.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10.0% of the time in North America
  • Ability to interface with senior sales and financial personal of DB in addition to all levels of KAC management.
  • Ability to bring new ideas to the Pricing group to improve overall operating efficiency both within the group and externally.
  • Ability to understand the elements of our Business Plan formation including DNN, SVM and SVC and their relationship to pricing decisions in e-spar
